So we sent away for the DNA test and have it back completed. I have been emailing people on ancestry regarding matching and being related. Trying to focus on one side of the family as there is an adoption. I have access to most of the other side already. Its very interesting and I have been having some fun searching but, I am limited on knowledge.  
 
Is there others on ebrandon who have used this DNA information that are willing to share tips and their successes with me?  
 
Closest relative we have found would be a 1st or second cousin most however are in the 4th to 6th cousin range. I was hoping for an aunt uncle or parent. but will take what we got.  
I guess with having a 1st or second with a family tree their parent is on there. just can not see names due to privacy of tree.

If you go on Facebook there is a group called "DNA Detectives" and they are amazing at helping you figure out the DNA. I have been working on this and if you have a 1st Cousin match that would be very easy to figure out the relation. Just remember that when they say 1st cousin that could mean many things ( half-aunt, niece, nephew etc.) It's based on the cm's shared.

never thought of it being a aunt just assumed cousin when it said that. I appreciate the help
