I was curious as to why it's called the Travellers' Day Parade. No history is available on their website, but a bit of Googling suggests to me that it might be related to the "Irish Travellers". This is supported by reference to the annual (?) "Shamrock Social" on their website as a fundraiser (?) for the event.  
 
Are the floats and parade meant to be a representation of a Gypsy caravan?  
 
Does anyone know of an actual history of the event?

United Commercial Travelers (UCT) is a non profit local service club. Originally, "A fraternal benefit society (internationally) that have a common passion for good citizenship and volunteerism to improve their local communities"  
 
They, like other community based service groups (such as Kinsmen Club, Rotary Club and many more) have Sponsored the Traveler's Day Parade in Brandon for many years.  
 
It definitely has nothing to do with 'Travellers in Europe or Gypsys'. Hope this helps.
