Influenza Outbreak
10/14/2008 at 2:01 PM
I am very new to e-Brandon and was browsing through the forums when I happened across Brandon History. I feel like I have found a pot of gold here because I am very interested in Brandon and Westman history in the 1880's and 90's.
I have recently self-published a novel which I historically researched and set in and near Brandon. I am in the process of writing a sequel and am searching for more facts. I really like to ad "tidbits" of historical info which the readers so far, really seem to like. I have not taken the time yet to look through all of the previous postings but look forward to doing so. You may get tired of all of my questions.
At some point I am sure that I read about an influenza outbreak in Brandon in 1883 but searching now I have not been able to find any info on it (I started my first book 7 years ago and researched it mainly through many books and not the internet) ... would anyone have any info on any kind of contagious outbreaks in the time period of 83-87.
Thanks for any help.
Doreen
