WANTED Volunteers to sit on the Brandon General Museum & Archives Inc. Board/Sub-committees.

The City of Brandon is looking for three volunteers interested in the history of Brandon, and area to sit on the newly incorporated General Museum &Archives Inc. Board.
There has been for the last three years an Organizational Committee of 13 members and three Councillors, and after many hours and discussion we have developed the following:
The purpose of the Brandon General Museum & Archives Inc. is to collect, preserve, study, and exhibit all artefacts, and archival materials pertaining to the city of Brandon, and areas designated.
The Museum & Archives Centre is a not for profit, educational establishment, it is to be operated for the betterment of the City of Brandon, the Province of Manitoba, and open to the public, regardless of race, creed, or personal background.
The Museum & Archives Centre will cooperate with other Museums in the province to collect, and preserve materials of significance, so that these materials may be preserved so that they aid in the advancement of knowledge of the History in the Province of Manitoba.
The Sub-Committee’s that are in place are:
Facility, (We have been looking for a suitable venue for the past three years): Ways & Means: Government Relations, (These members keep in touch with government agencies to secure their understanding and support): Media Communications, (These members organize Museum publicity and Town Hall meetings): Programming, and Archives & Collections.

APPLICATIONS MUST BE SUBMITTED BY NOVEMBER 20th 2009.
All nominations and/or applications shall be considered by City Council in its selection process, and such appointments shall be final.
