Ralph Zink was born on December 2nd 1906 in Brandon Manitoba. He moved as a child with his family to Burbank California.
In 1945 he graduated from the University of California, and changed his name to Donald Woods. He became an Actor and worked in the Entertainment Industry from the 1928 until the 1970’s.
He is credited with 75 film roles, 150 television shows, and 98 Stage Productions. He performed in movies like, Frisco Kid, The return of Tin Tin Tin, and True Grit with John Wayne.
Most of his work was in the so-called “B” movies, like the ones they used to show at Drive In Theatres. Mr. Woods gave up Acting in 1976, and turned his talents to Real Estate sales in Palm Springs, California.
He married his childhood sweetheart Josephine Van der Horck in 1933, and they had two children, Linda, and Conrad.
He is remembered on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for his performance in the Beast from 20,000 Fathoms.
Ralph Zink, a.k.a. Donald Woods died 5th March 1998, age 91 at Palm Springs, California.
He is buried in the Forest Lawn Cemetery at Cathedral City California.
