The Bay returned to Brandon on March 11th 1981.

After a 150-year absence the Hudson’s Bay Trading Company reopened its store in Brandon, be it on Ninth Street, and Rosser Avenue, (the Town Centre) and not a few miles down stream on the Assiniboine River at Fort Brandon, which was closed in 1837.
This new improved Trading Post did not Trade Pelts for merchandise, but instead they traded Paper Money or Plastic for merchandise of the day.
