On May 5th 1890 a Northern Pacific and Manitoba work train

“without flourish of trumpets”. Camped just outside Brandon city limits.
Eleven days later, May 16th a train containing the initial freight consignment consisting of farm machinery from the company of Smith and Sheriff arrived in Brandon.
