May 26th 1913 was Brandon’s first Automobile Accident.

On the morning of the 26th Garage owner Mr. Leo A. Bescoby, and Hotelier Mr. George William Hadley, (Born in 1876 at St. Laurence County, New York) were fatalities of an automobile accident.
A car being driven by Mr. Bescoby slid from a narrow, muddy grade at the top of the Eighteen Street hill, and rolled into a water filled ditch pinning the victims beneath the vehicle.
In the car were five other occupants’ two younger males, two women and a child: they were rescued by nearby residents who arrived at the scene.

He is interned at the Brandon cemetery.
