Public Prints of June 3rd 1904 proclaim a new Auto in town.

It was the new purchase of Mr. T. S. Matheson who could be seen speeding around the city.
His bright new Auto was an Oldsmobile runabout that ran smoothly under the expert management of its owner.
This car was one of the few horseless carriages making their initial appearances on Brandon’s streets.
In rapid succession, it was noted how Mr. E. L. Christie purchased a Ford Auto upon which he intended to do some speeding on local streets.
This machine was one of the first cars imported by a resident of Brandon. Other orders were placed soon after, and by the end of the summer there were about half a dozen vehicles in the city.
Within five weeks after several automobile initiated equine stampedes a Byelaw was prepared for regulating, and controlling of motor vehicles.
