Another history search - Grey Nuns and 1880's depression ...
7/31/2010 at 7:53 PM
Once again I am hoping I can ask for the help of fellow eBrandoners although I know at least half of my search may prove fruitless.
I am trying to find out what route it would involve to have a none-Catholic girl become a nun in the mid 1880's. I can not give too much of this away at the moment but if there is someone out there who can offer some assistance I will share more details. I have written an email to the Grey Nuns in Winnipeg but so far have not received word back.
Also after the big land boom in Manitoba in 81-82 everything dropped through the winter of 82 and until after the Riel Rebellion in 85. It appears that crops were very poor and people had a very hard time to make ends meet. Would any one have a site or book in mind where I could find such information ... agricultural info would be great ... anything would be certainly considered.
And on a side note ... I am still searching for the name of "the bad guy" ... I would love to have anyone who can offer me some assistance a chance at naming him and maybe other characters in the sequel to New Beginnings.
