Found this while doing quiz reseaarch. Doesn't really work as a quiz question so .....
The first Ukrainian to settle in Brandon was a man named Andrew Banzur.
He and his family emigrated to Regina in the winter of 1893 but there was no work there so in Spring 1894 he is said to have walked to Brandon in just 4 days to find work.
He got a job digging sewers and later became a carpenter. He was credited for building 50 houses in early Brandon and the first Greek Catholic church.
