Kirkham's Bridge - Memories and history?

Anyone have any history on that area?
I have memories but the mid-late 70's (in a blur) doesn't count as history and I dare not say here. Boy, it was a real party place in the 60's and 70's.
It is a really nice place to re-visit from time to time.
