I'll post a picture of this bridge I found during my random adventure, just curious if there was any story about it? I had no idea it was even there.

The Brandon lagoons are on the other side. I believe those are 1950's vintage so must have operated as a bridge before then. The land in the middle of the river appears to have a separate title so possibly railway related.

It does indeed appear to be railway related. There is an old track outline that continues NE of the lagoons and ends up where the current CP mail line is out near the aerial sprayer on the #1. The other end went through the slough to the south of Westman Salvage and into the area east of Koch and likely hooked into their yard at the 1st street bridge.

Thanks for looking into it. I honestly didn't look around long enough to find that because a white truck drove by and I got thinking maybe I shouldn't be out there lol. I had to walk down the "road" because my little car would of bottomed out for sure driving down there.

I've been told that 2 companies were racing to get the rail road into Brandon and the losing company got as far as placing that pier in before conceding defeat. Its never been used and has sat there ever since

The federal government was appointed Receiver of the Grand Trunk Pacific in March 1919. It was put under the management of the CNR in 1920. It and its parent company, the Grand Trunk Railway, were formally integrated into the CNR in 1923.  
 
The partly-built Grand Trunk Pacific spur line from Justice to Brandon was scrapped after 22 miles of roadbed had been completed. (Two large concrete bridge abutments remain today along the route.)
