BSE Class Action Suit Petition

I'm posting this to let people know that there is a petition being circulated to send a message to the government to appoint a mediator to settle the BSE class action suit that has been launched by the cattle producers out of court.
In 2005, a class action suit was launched which has been slowly working it's way through the court system. It was so long ago that most people have forgotten about it. Finally, after many attempts by the government to strike it down, and after 8 different judges denied their request, it is ready to go to trial.
The problem is that once it goes to trial, the government will appeal and appeal the decision, and the lawyer is telling us that it could take as much as ten years to settle.
We have a strong case, and good evidence that the government did not do it's job. What we want now is for he government to do the right thing, settle out of court, and get some money into the hands of producers before they have to pay it to their estates instead.
We're asking anyone who is interested in helping our cattle producers to obtain justice to sign the petitions. We have already lost 23,000 cattle operations in this country, and our rural economy does not need to lose more.
Right now there is a petition at Total Farm Supply, and at Quintaine's in Brandon, one at the Gladstone Auction Mart, and more are being sent out.
