For all you 'pond people' out there, and I know there are plenty, I would like to know how does one keep their fish over the winter, and in what. I would like to keep my 15+ common goldfish this year and don't know exactly how to do that. They are approx. 4" long and think the general rule is l gallon of water for l inch of fish = 60 gallon tank if I decide to bring them in. I have heard of putting them in a container in the basement/heated garage and just leave them dormant. What about the water quality, feeding, etc. What also is the procedure if you have large Koi, too big for an aquarium, but what do you do with them? Would appreciate some info.
