We were working in our garden today (its a flower garden) and near my Tiger lillies my husband and i found these Horrible Ugly grubs, probably as thick as my pinky finger.

I'm pretty sure its the larve of a June bug, is there a way to get rid of them? (I've heard that sometimes planting garlic helps, but i don't know how reliable my source was, lol) How do i get rid of these nasty nasty things? (Ew, i feel so creepy and crawly and grossed out now, lol)
(i'm also noticing some brown spots on my lawn, could this be from them as well?)
