I was talking to a friend the other day and we were discussing various ways of landscaping/gardening when money is tight and there isn't much available for gardening/flowerbed/planter expenses.  
 
So, how do you garden when on a budget?  
 
One thing I have done over the years is to divide existing perennials in the yard and to take that money and put it back into the yard for the purchase of more perennials I didn't already have....to fill in the flowerbeds with perennials rather than annuals.
