we bought our van (private purchase) several months ago, and had it parked for several months (storage insurance).  
Now due to the fact that our primary vehicle is no longer serviceable we had to switch to our van and now that we tried to put driving insurance on it they said we needed an immobilizer.  
at the time of purchase we took the paperwork to an insurance agent and had all the ownership, papers etc put in our name.  
they sent the letter saying it needed the immobilizer to the old owners. and now they took our money to insure the van, and now say that the time to put in the immobilizer has run out so they canceled our insurance, with out so much as a phone call, just a letter, now approx a week old saying the insurance was cancelled on the date of the letter.  
so for about a week we have been driving uninsured (without our knowledge) and all the money that we gave MPI/ autopac for insurance is gone, no credit.  
now we have to pay them again to insure the vehicle for a period that we already paid for.  
what a rip off
