I like using a soup can. Just use a can opener to remove the lip and your ready to go.

I use a glass, never thought of a soup can

A glass is too dull. The soup can with rim removed is sharp. Your biscuits will rise much better when cut with a sharp edge. I usually just pat the dough into a circle and cut into wedges with a sharp knife. They rise much better on the cut edges than on the end but it’s quick and no scraps to re-roll.

I was going to try Irish soda bread I like the rustic look.  
 
with a piece of cheddar cheese & a cup of tea

I used unsalted butter today, but this is a basic recipe.

Been following this since this morning, and when I saw the picture I thought there must be something wrong. We make and enjoy biscuits and what was wrong with the picture is I have never seen a full rack of biscuits, around here when they come out of the oven, a couple dissapear immediately, hot biscuits, butter and honey, true comfort food.  
Anyone make scones.
