Hi everyone!  
 
I am hoping to answer a few questions:  
 
Where can you get Chicken Breast that is not pumped with salt (best price/kg).  
 
Where can you get the best budget chicken breast (high protein content/price balance).  
 
I really want to stop buying bad chicken breast because it is all I can afford! What are my options??

I buy maple leaf brand from walmart. 5 breasts for $10. But some breast are big and some are small.. lol.

I buy when Coop has them on sale. 4kg for $26.36. Good quality and tasty.

Those cheap boxes of chicken breasts are soaked in salt water then frozen to create a heavier weight. They taste terrible. The best is to buy fresh. Our family rarely buys breast meat and usually eat thighs as they are cheaper to buy.

Best budget chicken breasts is not to buy them. Buy thighs on sale instead. Or buy whole chickens when they're $1.99/lb at Superstore and use the whole chicken.

We buy whole chickens as it gives us at least 3 meals. 2 meals of chicken, and then we use the carcass and some extra meat to make broth, soup, or chicken pot pie.  
 
Chicken breasts arent the best budget food. Thighs or legs are better (and better tasting). Might be a little bit fattier but you can’t be picky on a budget.  
 
If you must have chicken breast then Walmart is your best bang for your buck.

We prefer breasts over thighs/legs so it’s not really a budget thing for us, rather just preference. However, we pick them up in Bottineau, ND. For approx $10, you get a flat that would be $25-$30 here. One flat easily gives us 3 meals, sometimes 4 depending on what recipes were using them for.  
 
I also like to pick up Cornish hens down there. A pack of 2 is I think $7.50?  
 
I have tried the frozen boxes from coop and sobeys but they are hit and miss for me in regard to the texture. If I have to buy them here, I like M&M meat shops the best

The best chicken breasts ...and hamburger ...and everything else! The chicken breasts taste like chicken. Not pumped with salt water or anything else ...just awesome chicken breast! Can’t buy them anywhere else anymore!

The chicken ban from Bottineau? How recent were you at Bottineau? The last time we were there, they told us we couldn’t bring back chicken to Canada....mind you it has been awhile since we were at Bottineau & that was mainly the reason we went because the chicken breasts were way cheaper so we would stock up. We also always bought other products that you can’t get in Canada.

Yes it’s been lifted for quite awhile. The most recent trip we did was maybe a month ago?  
 
However, even during the ban, they never checked our groceries
