Yes, it's reading zero. But apparently even new gauges you should check them (and have them rechecked annually) as they can be as much as 2lbs off coming from factory (!!). I'm new to pressure canning and super-paranoid, so I would rather have the assurance of having it checked.
I didn't realize we have an Ag Extension office. I left a message. I'm sure they do what I need them to do, but maybe they can point me in the right direction.
