I was just wondering if anyone knew if it is ok to eat iceberg lettuce again since there was a recall for it?  
 
I saw that west end sobeys are selling ceaser salads again.

I read a report years ago of lettuce production on the states. As they use migrant workers treat them like dirt don’t allow bathroom breaks or a place to go to bathroom. They go right in the fields they are harvesting.  
 
So E-coli here I come.  
 
Majority problem in packaged lettuce as heads are usually cleaned thoroughly by cook. No one thinks to wash a prepackaged lettuce.

If they are throwing this lettuce away around here I would take it, ecoli is a nasty bug, but a thorough wash in cold chlorinated water will likely put an end to the problem. Seperate the lettuce and soak for maybe 5 minutes then rinse, and if you are putting any sort of vinegar on it as a dressing, you are also adding another product that kills ecoli.  
I guess a recall is a simpler solution than expecting people to educate themselves, don’t mean that as an insult, even if it comes across that way.
