I’ve been looking at getting an instapot. I use a non- programmable crock pot and find it’s not working well in my household anymore.  
 
I would like to try an instapot. I’m looking for some reviews and recommendations on what model to buy?  
 
What are your favourite meals to make? Where did you buy yours? Or was it a gift? Would you of bought it for yourself?  
I have a busy household with school age kids and a full time job so a crock pot that comes on and off is favourable, as some dishes don’t need to cook all day but I’m not able to be home to put it on at lunch. I try to not have take out as it’s not in my budget and we are trying to eat healthy.  
I’m looking for all input from current Instapot users.

It’s a great product and I like this pressure cooker. It is known though as an Instant Pot, not ’Instapot,.  
 
Bought from Cdn Tire on sale, I was looking for one and have the 6 quart Duo.  
 
There are many Instant Pot Groups online.. Really like mine!

.... it's actually known as both an Instapot and Instant Pot. The manufacturer seems to use both interchangeably in their website.

OP: if you have social media, definately check out online groups. Tons of ideas.

We bought one quite awhile before they became popular. It is a great appliance useful for many things. I can't say I have actual recipes for it but many can be adapted to make in it. We use it a lot... hard boiled eggs, pulled pork, Mac & cheese, potatoes. The pressure cooker function is great. Cooked dry beans in it yesterday, threw in some tomatoes, molasses, mustard and a ham bone....slow cooked for several hours and had a good meal. Made stuffing for New Years dinner today. Lots of recipes, etc online. Veggies cook great on 1-2 minute pressure cook. A bit of a learning curve but I use it for many things. I bought a 3 qt one as well. Highly recommend.

What size and model you own??

Get a Duo or the 9 in 1. You will use the manual button most of the time, but you can adjust the pressure. You also have a few more options. The Lux is ok, but has the least amount of options. The slow cooker function does not work like a slow cooker you are used to. I would not recommend using this to cook a pot full of food. It is great for reheating leftovers. Roasts will be like pot roasts. They are still very good done in an IP. Use extra seasoning, seems to need it. Is use mine all the time.

I have the IP Duo 6 qt. If your family is larger than 4 you might want the 8 qt., however I find the 6 adequate, and also bought the smaller 3 qt which gets a lot of use too.  
 
They are both very good in pressure cooker mode. If wanting slow cook I usually heat stuff up under pressure then switch to slow cook as it seems slow to heat in that mode. I’ve kept food on “keep warm” for hours without loss of quality.

Love my instant pot. Have had mine for 4 years now.  
 
BTW, it is called an instant pot, NOT an insta pot. The website reference is NOT a manufacturer's website. It is simply a review type of a website. The pot is correctly called an instant pot.

I think they are over rated. I bought it, used it lots in the beginning. Even with extra seasoning meat tasted like it was boiled. I ended up selling it and don't miss it at all. Haven't heard good things about the slow cooker function. One thing it was great for was ribs. Cooked them in there, then moved them to the oven or bbq to do the bbq sauce or seasoning.
