My mother in law is taking me, my mother, and my grandmother in law to see Mamma Mia on Thursday, and we’re going out for dinner that night as well. I know what I like in Brandon, but I feel like my mother and grandmother in law might not enjoy the restaurants I like (sushi hut, Qdoba, shawarma queen). We always go to pizza express because I adore it but I’m wanting to try something different. Any recommendations would be lovely.  
 
Note: My mother and I don’t like browns (don’t care if it’s new we don’t like the menu).

Applebee's or even Smitty's at the mall. Boston Pizza's good too. Those would be my recommendations for a sure hit for the wide variety of age ranges and food interests.  
 
Don't particularly care for Montana's myself. But a lot of people rave about it.

Usually great food and a big range of styles. Maybe try sabor Latino. Its usually a quiet atmosphere with great food.

We love the food at Montana's but we make a point of not taking seniors there, as it just too noisy, it is hard for them to concentrate on the conversation with all the hubbub. We prefer the Victoria Inn when taking our senior relatives out-good food, good service and a calm atmosphere (sit in the restaurant, not poolside) Other suggestions are Appleby's or The Dock (but not in the lounge)

Make a nice night of it and go to Bennys. Great food, good atmosphere, and supports local entirely.

Alberts is local. The food is good.

Mom's restaurant has great food. Something for everyone. I love the fish and chips.

You could try Astoria Pizza

Great menu, great prices, great service,great environment and most of all great bread pudding! Plan on taking my parents there soon myself.

id choose joeys fish and chips..great food and great service!! the other option would be Romana's on 9th street same thing excellent food and service!

Prairie Firehouse might be a little loud for supper, we always find it hard to have conversations there.  
 
Bennys is a nice idea, quiet atmosphere and great service and not deep fried food, which can get so monotonous.  
 
Too bad Lady of the Lake isn't open during the evening, that would be my top choice for you!

i always see old people there. And if you mix the sprite with the frutopia its like the best drink ever

We love Echo it’s very nice!!

A lot of older people dine there. Very easy to carry on a conversation & good service. Have always enjoyed the food there. Nice variety for everyone.

...and by that you mean McDonalds. Nice. There are a lot of "old" people there. I hope your post was a joke.  
 
Having older parents, I understand the preference of a quieter restaurant.

Swiss Chalet, tried the other week & it was decent with a good menu: also not busy.

Cranberry's on Victoria ave east, my dad loves it there and he's in his 90's !

Swiss chalet is great for seniors. The dining room is bright and the menu is great. Also affordable.

Always groups of older folk there, usually quieter after lunch. Great friendly service

These are too of my grandparent's favourites. Both have great senior's menus and good food.

I agree with two options already listed:  
Cranberry’s (great service!)  
And Sabor Latino (quiet and friendly)

There is one very huge question everyone forgot to ask. Atmosphere & affordability are important, but...  
 
What type of food do they prefer? Would they be willing to try something different like ethnic foods or do they like what is familiar? Did you ask?  
 
I know my fil only likes what he knows, and the name can't even be varied or he thinks it is something odd.
