Looking to have a meeting at end of January for a province wide group of 5 to 8 people in Portage La Prairie as it is central. Meeting will be on a Sunday about 1 pm & we will have lunch. Doesn't have to be separate room but fairly quiet and no extra expense for room. Any idea's anyone? Tried to find a forum about Portage but no such luck. We are lucky to have E-Brandon. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks

Try CanadInns, they have a restaurant and should have a small meeting room. We were just there for our Christmas party in a larger room in basement. Doubt if Boston Pizza has a small meeting room. The motel on the highway, Days Inn might have a meeting room and I think has a restaurant. If I think of anything more will post again.

Hello. I know Canad Inns is large enough should be about to accommodate. Also I know that you said you don’t want to pay extra but they also have larger private dining rooms. I think Boston pizza but it could be louder. Good luck.

Portage has a few Facebook groups that would be what you’re looking for. Try “portage queries”  
 
As for suggestions, I’d suggest over the coals for good tasting food or Canad inns for the space (but food at any canad inns is not my favourite lol)

There is a fairly new and spacious Chicken Chef on Saskatchewan Ave.

I will try the Portage queries as well and phone Chicken Chef. I think the Prince Cafe is a little to formal (down to earth horse group) and I see Over the Coals is not open until 4pm on Sunday. I have been to Boston Pizza for a meeting a few years ago and it was too loud. I am with Sammy about the food at Canad Inns.

Seasons Family Restaurant has a separate room I am 99% sure. Very good food here

THE NEW CHICKEN CHEIF HAS A MEETING ROOM TRY THEM

Both seasons and chicken chef have rooms that can have meetings. Both have really good food as well. Tornado’s can also accommodate if you call ahead!

Oh I totally forgot about seasons and chicken chef. Both are good food and good size space, can’t go wrong with either one

Thanks everyone for their suggestions to my question! I ended up booking a corner booth with Chicken Chef. We have such a small group that a private room was really not an option as they are usually to accommodate larger groups.

Not sure about the separate meeting room but I love the food there!
