restaurant opportunity in Carberry?
10/22/2010 at 9:57 PM
It would be great if someone out in ebrandon-land would like to open a much-needed restaurant in Carberry. There is one already set up just waiting for competent people to open the doors! This evening we went to one of the only two family-appropriate restaurants for supper, as I was so tired from working all week. We entered to a room blue from the smoking kitchen (grill I presume) -one couple came in and left within 5 minutes without ordering because of the smoke. We waited for at least 10 minutes for the one waitress on staff to bring a menu, and then an hour to receive our food. The kids by that time were over-hungry, the youngest crying, and asking why her food wasn't coming yet. (Incidentally there were 8 other people in the restaurant, so not really overrun with customers!) I finally had to ask if the kids meals would be arriving soon, to be told yet another 5 minutes - and all we ordered was chicken fingers and a hamburger for the kids - hardly time-consuming items. The hamburger was ordered "plain" but came with tomatoes, pickles, onions, chopped lettuce and mayo. The pattie was burned, and so dry it was crumbling - we ended up leaving it and therefore the child had basically nothing but a few fries after waiting so long. We complained and were given a "discount" off the burger but still ended paying essentially what could have bought a substantially good meal in a higher-class establishment in Brandon. I have paid less at Montana's than what we paid tonight for inexcusable food and service. I'm not asking for advice - just venting- and to say if anyone has the experience and desire to open a restaurant, we in Carberry desperately need one!
