So up until very recently I always thought that I didn't like pancakes. Then I tried the best pancakes in the world in Calgary and now I'm back in Brandon an I'd like to try pancakes again. So my question is, what places in town make the best pancakes? I'm not talking good pancakes, I'm talking make you jump up ad sing pancakes. Anyone have a favorite place?

I don't know of any restaurants that make great pancakes I personally find that my homemade batter is the best I have ever had! Obviously I am a little biased lol. Seriously though making my own has never disappointed. I find a lot of restaurants don't have what I like which is a slightly crispy brown outside with a fluffy interior. As well the flavour profile I prefer has notes of vanilla with lemon served with fresh fruit and real maple syrup of course.

I prefer waffles. More cooked surface area.  

the best pancakes I ever had were made from wild rice flour - - silky smooth !

I always thought I didn't like them either until I started making my own. Just google a recipe, they are pretty basic.  
 
Our current recipe is a bit different that we are enjoying. Look on pinterest for banana/oatmeal/almond milk blender pancakes.  
 

We're they basic or like apple pancakes, German pancakes, had things in or on them?

I get really bad stomach pains when I eat regular pancakes or waffles.  
 
Crêpe style pancakes are my preferred style. Those are hard to find in Westman as thicker seems to be better.

I know - closest one is in Wpg. but well worth it.
