Just curious... And I do apologize if this is not in the proper discussion thread... But it's food related. Lol  
 
Just curious as to whether or not you have had to organize a funeral luncheon, where you come from (whether it's local or rural) and how much does the luncheon cost you. Or what the average charge is. Is it donated food, or a set price per person, and what is usually served.

Hi. I am sorry for your loss if that is what has happened. In our case the funeral home staff when planning the funeral asked us about having one. They asked a few questions as to what type of food (sandwiches and soup, full hot meal, etc.) and the approximate cost was brought up then but I forget it sorry. They gave us a few options of places they usually use and we picked on. It was all set up through them. They know you have a lot going on and the piece of mind it was taken care of was awesome.

Always been sandwiches and danties . Many of the ladies donated the food, talked before hand on who was bringing what. Coffee machine was in hall.

now a days you really can do whatever suits yo, for my grandpa the funeral home arranged the luncheon to grandmas tastes but for my dad the close family just went out to a restaurant after, another relative had a pot luck type gathering after the funeral at a hall  
 
I know there are lots of decisions and lots going on but really choose what best suits your family and bugdet

cater funeral luncheons - the cost for sandwiches and dainties with coffee/tea is approx. $4.75 per person - perhaps a bit more if you also want cheese and pickles - call the Legion Office 728-5026 - I think the office is open Tues - Fri. They can get you an exact quote. They can also prepare food for a large group - for the last funeral tea the family asked for food for over 200 people.

I haven't loss anyone, I am just gathering info as to what is charged and where, and what is offered....  
 
But you all made me look to see if I did mark that I had lost someone lol
