I am looking to purchase chicken breasts from a farmer. Is that possible? Do I have to purchase a whole chicken? I am not sure how to do this. I eat a lot of chicken breast and I am looking for a more natural alternative other than the store bought chicken breasts with added hormones and fat.

Likely have to buy the whole chicken

You're likely going to have to buy a whole chicken. The only time it's feasible to break down chickens and sell off parts like that is if you're a large-scale operation that uses conventional production methods. I mean, if you eat 2 chicken breasts, that one chicken. What happens to the rest of the chicken?  
 
I buy whole chickens from http://www.klassewoodsnaturalfarm.com/chicken.php and I have for years now. Super good! But they do come frozen and are larger roasting chickens - typically in the 2.5 to 3.0 kg range.

Chicken breast isn't always available depending on supply, but I have seen them on the Harvest Moon website. It's great! You put in an order and then pick up at the appointed time at The Green Spot.

Chickens are not fed hormones BTW. It just doesn't happen. No matter what A&W says.

And you can't add fat to a chicken breast nor do they feed fat to chickens. Just go to a local grocery store. Now chicken nuggets and formed chicken fingers that's another story. Made up of all kinds of chicken parts all ground up.
