Just wondering how many post-2016 RAM owners have experienced cold weather air suspension issues? FCA has developed patches for pre-2016 models in the form of upgraded air lines, compressor and second stage air filter (about $2,500 for all upgrades) I've been told that even with these mods, there is still no iron clad guarantee the air ride problems will be solved. A coil over conversion is about $2,000, so I'm wondering if I should chance the mods or bite the bullet and scrap the system outright. Just seems like such a contradiction that RAM's flagship models are unusable in weather that a 4WD truck was meant for.

I've got a 2014 Ram and the first winter it spent one month in the shop for air ride issues , the next winter was fine as it was very mild, the following winter it was in there for two months and now this winter its been over a month now and I still don't have it back. The biggest issue is that they are now wanting to charge me and I"m pissed as I only have 44,000 km on it. I will never buy another Ram with air ride suspension on it as they all fail in the winter.

They said the warranty work is covered for 2 years from repair date. You might want to call them.

hey guys, I realize you are all still on warranty so likely won't be interested at this point, however I'm a mechanic and have been dealing with highway tractor air systems for a number of years. Should you eventually get fed up with the poor system design, I feel pretty confident I would be able to creat and install a much better, and more reliable air system into your trucks. just some food for thought!

I had an airlift 5000 set up in my truck with an automatic compressor. I never had any issues with the system in the winter, but it recommended that you use airline anti freeze.

obviously I haven't seen it, but I'm guessing something like that is what I had in mind. on a different note, how have you guys liked them in winter, regarding plugging in and starting? I installed a webasto in mine so I never have to plug in, and absolutely love it. cant recommend it enough

mine is having issues as well. luckily the guy before me bought a platinum warranty so not costing me a dime. still very frustrating not having my truck to drive. very nice truck to drive when I have it. no issues with the eco diesel starting with just having it plugged in. The air system mentioned above will be the same system as on a hwy tractor, with all the proper components that allow it to work in all conditions. I've heard of it being done but don't know cost or how it was installed.

I have used the Firestone system on several trucks, 3/4 and 1 ton units since 2000. In all, well over 2.5 million clicks with minimal issues. I have never used airline anti freeze so can't speak to that issue. The only one with the automatic system I have used is my current truck and probably wouldn't get another. If it needs adjusting, it probably has a line leak so just a matter of fixing that. Most were purchased and installed at Custom Auto and Truck and have been reasonably satisfied with everything but haven't dealt with the current ownership. I wouldn't have another pickup without the AirRide. Super great to have the headlights on the road and not have people constantly high-beaming you when loaded or pulling a trailor.

I have called them and because they replace different parts all the time they look at it as a totally different problem. They are paying for the parts but I'm still having to pay $800.00
