Is there any restriction for car that is insured here in Manitoba to be used and driven in Ontario for few months?

Will need to check to rules in Ontario on when they require you to change to have insurance there... if you don’t do it in their time frame your Manitoba insurance will be void

As long as your permanent address remains Manitoba your fine from my understanding

3 months after you move there that u need to change over . If your just visiting or working there and still live in Manitoba your good to go as long as you are still a Manitoba resident . I work in Alberta for 8 months out of the year and live here and mpi doesn’t have an issue with that .

this is the correct answer but i couldnt find how long you have to switch insurance, in BC its 2 weeks even tho the license requirement is longer  
 
I did notice ON doesnt require you to change your license if you are visiting for less then 3 months but if you move there you have 60 days  
 
you may get away with not switching if you are pulled over but if you get into an accident the mpi wont cover and youll be SOL

I did the same thing when I lived in Calgary. Not only was insurance for a 20 year old male prohibitively expensive for me, I also ran into the problem of finding anyone to insure me at all. Although I had a clean abstract and driving history I had "Zero stars" so only a couple of carriers would insure me. My basic coverage required by GMAC at the time for my leased car was $455/month...the car payment was only $321. So I rolled the dice, I insured the car in Manitoba and crossed my fingers that I'd never get into an accident, because if I did and they found out that I was not actually a Manitoba resident I was in pretty big DOO DOO.  
 
Almost every insurance place I went to was very clear about the liabilities I would suffer if I was in a serious accident both legally and financially but I was 20 and invincible. Luckily I never had an accident, but I would not advise you to do what I did....if that's why your asking.  
 
Private insurance companies will find out and MPIC won't try to protect you if you are essentially living in another province but trying to save some money with MPI.

licence is ok to remain MB if you are legit just visiting, you had better check with MPI and increase your personal liability. what is basic here in Mb 500,000? most people go with a mil or 2 , I'd lay odds that Ontario it might be common to see 5 mill

It will be temporary living there for a year due to a job. Will be coming back to Manitoba after that temporary job. So it seems that it will be o.k to hold on to MPI. I will check with MPI to be sure.

You should check with service ontario. And you lose your mb health after being gone from province seven month, so you’ll need to change your healthcare. And cra will probably deem you to be an Ontario resident for that year.

You file as the province you reside in as of December 31. I'd use that as you're rule...if you're filing as Ontario, then you live in Ontario so you register your vehicle in Ontario.
