it took me many years but it happened, I've got my first chip in my windshield... now what? How much does it cost to fix it? Are those little booths in the parking lots a good place to go? I'm assuming il want to fix it asap, before it spreads...how much will this cost me? Thanks to all who can provide any information!!

As long as your deductible is less than $300 the repair is "free". I have never been to one of the places in the parking lot, so I cant help you there.

So where do I go to get this "free" repair? Sorry for my ignorance...it's just all new. Do I just go to the MPI building? Or...?

I was very happy with the service I got at the chip repair tent by Canadian Tire/Staples/Tim Hortons.

I only put free in quotations because its not technically free, as the insurance you pay covers it. You can go on the MPI website and find the places that do glass, or vehicle repairs.

Very pleasant young lady fixed my chip in the Safeway parking lot at the corral center. No appointment. Just pull up. Quick, easy, no cost with appropriate deductible.

And you don't need to contact MPI first, you can just go to an autobody place or to one of those parking lot tents!

For the convenience I went to a tent repair at Walmart parking lot and was not happy with the job. I normally go to Hometown Auto Glass and will go back in the future.
