Looking for some info regarding the MPI winter tire program. Also, any recommendations on where to go for the tires? I am new to this, so any info is greatly appreciated.

We bought ours at Goodyear on 18th st north. Kal Tire has good service as well.  
 
Tell them you want to use the tire program, they will show you what tires are eligible and you get them on, sign the form and monthly payments begin. It’s easy

We haven’t used the program but we’ve bought winter tires for 2 vehicles from the garage mahal (on braecrest) and he mentioned that he can help with the program if you need it and that it is an easy process

On a side note, this year I got my first ever compliment on my winter tires lmao. Don’t ask me what they are as I have no idea but I laughed when it happened and thought, “only in MB!!” Haha

I have used the MPI winter tire program to buy winter tires for 4 different vehicles in the last few years. It is a great way to get winter tires when you don't have $1000+ to pay out all at once. You can choose your repayment term, 1 to 4 years. You can pay it off early if you want to for any reason.  
 
If you happen to have an accident and your vehicle is written off, your MPI settlement will not pay out your tires. They will give you a portion of the tires' cost and you can apply that to your loan (or not) and then you keep making your payments until the tires are paid off. Or you can get your tires back and sell them/give them away/put them on another vehicle.

Mpi offered us a price on our written off vehicle and they i:ncluded both sets of rims and tyres in that price. We thought about keeping the winter set but if we did then they were going to pay less on the vehicle.

Also, consider getting used winter tires, especially if you have a common size.  
 
We've bought used tires on rims for a fraction of the cost of new. Often people get rid of their vehicle for some reason (trade, sale, write-off), and their tires don't fit their new vehicle. Usually they have several seasons of wear left on them.  
 
We've bought them from ebrandon and kijiji, and we've bought used rims from the wreckers.

You pick which tires you want and the time you want to pay 1-4 years and a monthly payment will come out of your account. I recommend Garage Mahal on Braecrest.

They would give the option of paying out both, or either set if you wanted to keep 1. In my case the winter tires were brand new and on the vehicle so I did not want to let them go for what MPI was offering. Besides, I was able to use them on my replacement vehicle.
