Car question

My car is a four cylinder and automatic, every time put it in park mode now the gear seems to not go into park properly/fully and also have a hard time getting the keys out unless I attempt to put the gear completely in park which can be a struggle. Does this sound like anything terrible...also spilled some coffee in this area, I'd appreciate any probabilities.
