My view (I do represent a dealership)

Hi there,
In response to this post, my name is James and I do represent Honda in Brandon.
Dealerships at the end of the day pay the same invoice price across Canada for their product. There are a lot of resources out there to help a consumers buy a vehicle, things like Canadian blackbook and also sites that will tell you invoices of vehicles on the lot.
I, personally pride myself on my service to my clients, not only before the sell but after the sale. When your buying a vehicle, it has to be an enjoyable experience, and it definitely has to make sense financially.
I don't usually post on things like this, but I have worked at a Honda dealership in Winnipeg and was able to represent other dealerships as well (being a automotive group).
It does come down to the bottom line figure, and it is inviting to explore options to see when you can save money.
Try to give your local dealership an opportunity. A lot of dealerships in Brandon are involved with the local community and they give back a lot. Also when buying a vehicle, you will be getting it serviced somewhere and it is nice to have a relationship with a salesperson who you can casually have a coffee with you whilst your getting an oil change, and have them add your new phone to the Bluetooth (We always will, whether you buy from Brandon or not, but it truly is a relationship process).
The reason I talk about bottom line figure is because companies might have a higher trade value than the person down the street (whether Brandon or another city), but they might also have a higher documentation fee etc.
I am sorry for rambling on, and I mentioned I don't usually post on things like this. But I truly believe on buying locally, they offer jobs, they give back to community, they provide service and it is on your doorstep.
There are many more points I can make, but please consider giving your local dealership an opportunity to earn your business.
Have a great day!
