    Vw or Mitsubishi in your opinion which is the worse transgression lieing about emissions so as to be able to give consumers the best fuel milage available with today's technology or lieing to make their vehicles look like they are providing you better fuel milage than they are?

    I have a Mitsubishi RVR compact SUV 4WD and I get the mpg they advertise so they can't be lying about that. Never had my emissions tested to know.

    Mitsubishi just admitted to fudging it's mpg numbers maybe you got one that actually performs as advertised good if you did

    I just looked up the article to see if my model was listed and it looks to be 2 models of mini cars sold by Mitsubishi and Nissan. None of which I think are sold in Canada. So I would think if you own a Canadian Mitsubishi then you should be good. As an FYI I had an RVR for a week as a rental and got the same advertised mileage, that was one of the things that influenced my decision to buy one.

    I think it's probably a pretty safe bet that most car manufacturers have transgressed in their time. Some have gotten away with it, and others are yet to be caught at it.  
     
    As to the question in the op, the bigger transgression, lying about emissions or lying about fuel economy. The lie is the transgression, so it's pretty much the same thing, at least as I see it.
