My car was towed by police yesterday, apparently RCMP as the City Police have no record. I only get a recording at the RCMP office. Where do they tow cars? I just need to know where it is now. Does anyone know?

They have the contract with the City Police, I would check there first.

Where was your vehicle towed from? Are you sure it was towed? If it has been towed by police you will need a release form from police to get vehicle back.

You'll need to figure out why you were towed. This will help determine who towed it. You also have the option of calling around to the different tow companies to see if they have your vehicle. Main companies I've seen used by city and RCMP is Accel and Full-Tilt. (Saw a van getting towed over the weekend by full-tilt with a undercover cop car next to it)  
 
If it was towed by the police, you'll need to get a release like a previous person had mentioned.

have had this issue in the past, vehicle missing phone police and ask if it was towed and they denied it , talked to people in area and found that police had moved it , had to get lawyer to get them motivated to admit that they had it ,they do have their moments .

Ya, this has been going on in Brandon for years, and it has to stop. Police driving around and towing vehicle away for no apparent reason. Tow them using a private company that the city pays for and have them taken to a private compound where there is an exorbitant nightly storage fee (that the city pays for) and then refuses to tell the owner that they towed it. Give me a break!!  
 
You asked for help from the good people of ebrandon but you seem to be evasive about what happened. If you want help then it's time to get serious. Where was it towed from?? Was it in a private lot and parked in a slot where it shouldn't have been?? Was it towed off the street because it had no plates on it?? What happened?? Maybe it was in fact stolen. If you don't want to tell and just want to stick with the conspiracy theory then perhaps you need to stop wasting our time.

to clarify for you , the vehicle was towed from a property that i own in the city , when it was missing i contacted the police to see if it was towed as they could have mistaken it for being on a lane which it was not , they denied the towing and after talking to people in the area i found that the police had in fact towed it , i then contacted the police and suggested that we had something to discuss and was advised nothing to discuss just go pay for towing and storage and get your vehicle . with lawyer involved they ungraciously returned the vehicle to the original location.  
i hope today turns out better for you than yesterday seems to have.

I hope this was a lesson for the city because the tow company had to be paid twice at tax payer expense. I'm glad you knew your rights and had your vehicle towed back to it's original location and certainly hope the city has been more careful in these situations since then. A lesson for all of us really, to get the facts before we just obey & pay.
