I have 2005 grand am that will always turn over but doesn't always start. Sometimes it starts with out a problem, any idea what the issue could be? Also any recommendations on a garage to bring into?

Pass lock sensor. Can get the parts from piston ring but you have to take ignition cylinder out and transfer

Likely your ignition switch/security system. Pretty sure they had a recall for that.

Have a grand am. For me it was the fuel pump. These sit inside the gas tank and frequently the contacts that engage on the pump are dirty or gummed up so no power gets to the pump. The car will crank and crank but not fire.  
 
You can do a free test. Next time you have an issue, get out of the car and bang on the underside of the gas tank from the passenger side. This will often make an electrical contact on the pump and it will fire. More importantly it indicates oh need to replace the fuel pump.

if you need to get it looked at or fixed, go see this guy. If you get him to diagnose your car and then fix it, the diagnostic is free. I haven't found a better mechanic and the shop rates are one of the best in town.
