This will be my first car. Any suggestions?  
 
Prefer to buy on ebrandon or kijiji. But have no idea how to check if the car is good or not.

We have always asked to have a pre-owned vehicle checked over by a mechanic so you know what you are buying. So you will have to check with the owner, and make arrangements. Have paid for the mechanic, felt it's worth it even to walk-away if need be!

When buying privately contact the bank and make sure there isn't a lean on it - or you may not actually own it outright!

My wife will be putting her car up for sale she bought it new she not putting it up for sale until it's looked over and saftied nice car low km

Don't be afraid to walk away from a car. Its your money (and possibly the banks), make good decisions.  
 
Also, since it is your first vehicle, I would recommend staying within a cash (no loan) purchase. Cars are a horrible investment and if you can save a little longer to buy it out right.
