Hello everyone, I'm new to this kind of discussion, but this time I not sure what to do. Last April I picked up my brand new travel trailer from a local dealer, since April I had have to bring it to the dealer for several issues electric and water leaks. I didn't use it at all and I had all this e issues. My first camping in May was a nightmare electrical problems against and water leaks but this time worst than the first time the sensors are not working bolts are coming out from several areas of the trailer a lot of issues. The dealer fixed some then they asked me to bring them the trailer but they have it for five days already and they still not fixed it because they are too busy selling.the trailer is sitting in their lot and I doing the payments for something that I don't have and I can't usu it because it is damaged. Please advise me what I can do, can I return it?

I don't know what to tell you about your situation but just want to comment about how these trailers are built now and how they get sent out. The quality control is atrocious and I really don't know how they get away with it. I too traded in a four year old unit on a brand new one this spring and the old one was in better condition inside than the one I have now. No other segment would get away with this but the dealers love it because they make a killing doing warranty work.

My advice would be to contact the manufactor.  
E mail or phone.  
I pull new campers from the factories in Indiana.  
They run them out pretty fast, but i do know that some manufactors are very poor at proper finishing of a trailer, where other are very good at finishing.  
Also high end ones have already had the water check for leaks and electrical issues.  
If your not pleased with the dealer and you have communicated that to the dealer, next act is the manufactor.

We bought a new camper a few years ago from a dealer in a town west of Brandon. We had major electrical issues. We called often for warranty work. It was constant - microwave, TV, furnace, fridge, hot water, light switches etc. They were determined to fix it but could never find the real source of the issue. We took a hit and traded it on a uses camper. I did not feel safe in that one. We had tried contacting the manufacturer but they just kept saying that the dealer would fix it. The camper we got when we traded has given us minimal issues. Sounds like you got a lemon like we did

Yes it is lemon deal, the dealer told me "no worries we will move you to another kind of trailer but you have to pay the trade and defference of the other trailer" there is no a good solución I will end getting hit with a loss of money. They said that their manager will call me asap I will wait for what this guy have to say, if they don't fix or offer something that make me happy I will post the dealer and what kind of trailer I bought from them. Why I'm going to lost money in the trade of other trailer when the one I have is one month old? I

Yes very unfortunate. We took a big hit on our camper we traded. They gave us "extended warranty" for half the price on our 2nd camper. Big whoop! We used our camper for a year and we basically called in almost every time we used it for some sort of repair service. It was almost as if they didn't believe us.

Travel trailers are all like this. We have had 5 5th wheels now, and there is always a problem, it's what rv-ing is all about. We have friends in Ontario who bought a new 36' Jayco 5th wheel and they were down in Arizona this winter and had about 35 different issues to fix but none of the rv places would fix it and told them to take it back to the dealer. On the way home the walls separated from the floor and the dealer couldn't do anything about it so now their trailer is back at the factory in Indiana and they are getting nowhere with the company that made the trailer.  
 
I think if it is possible to get a trailer with few problems you should hold on to it and keep it forever because they are just producing junk nowadays. Could you imagine what it would be like if automobiles were produced like this?  
 
Having said that though everything is junk nowadays. We bought a new fridge last fall and the store told us to expect it to last only 7 years as that is the life expectancy now. Hell we have a deep freeze that is 42 years old and is still running.
