Trucking industry

Was having a conversation with a fella the other day of the challenges the current and future trucking industry sees with fuel prices, Canadian dollar, etc. Anyone have any insights or comments on this and also how it effects the ecomony in different areas. I don't see as many advertisements for the truck drivers since the boom has passed anyways.
