We ended up getting backed into a bit ago and since my child was in the car, we were told MPI would reimburse us when we pick up a new car seat. Its been about 2 weeks since we got a new car seat and brought our old one into MPI. Does anyone know how long it will take to get reimbursed, and how we will get the money? The lady at MPI didn't say anything about it.

I had to replace 4 seats a couple of years ago for similar reasons. It seems to be it took about 3 or so weeks, and a cheque came in the mail. It wasn't terribly long.

We had to replace one three years ago and it took about 3 weeks to a month. Cheque came by mail but went to my other half’s address at the time since the insurance was in his name and it was his vehicle.

I recently heard it was cancelled too, just can't remember how long ago though.

I just had 2 of my car seats replaced in December of last year and it took a couple weeks to get a check in the mail.

If I read between the lines of what you posted, it seems that part of the reason why those particular seats weren''t replaced was because they would have been empty (i.e. the car was parked). The OP specifically said that the seat was occupied, so that maybe changes the criteria.  
 
I mean, the seats are not specifically excluded in MPI''s list of exclusions, which details such things as CD''s, tires on actually on your vehicle, or tools, clothing or cameras. So I would infer that in some instances, they will replace them.
