I'm contemplating buying a new car next year, and going over some of the pros and cons of leasing vs financing. That is it's own conversation with pros and cons. But I'm curious - to any of those who have dealt with MPI in the case of a leased vehicle - what has been your experience as opposed to financed in the case of a write off? I assume coverage is pretty much the same with non write off, just pay deductible and get it fixed...

Ask a dealer these questions. When financing, you own the car. Leasing, they own the car. If the payout is less than your contractual obligation, I cannot see them taking the loss.
