I’ve been pondering the idea to start a food truck business. Looking for insight on whether it’s a good/bad thing! Eager for all kinds of advice!  
If anyone has info for a Govt grant (if available) - would be GREATLY appreciated!

A huge positive is that you’re your own boss and not part of a franchise so you get to keep all of the money you worked so hard for. You usually have to deal with cramped space and extreme heat but a food truck is a fraction of the cost of a restaurant and your mobile so you can go to festivals, fares, concerts, etc. And also keep in mind that it’s seasonal, so expect to sit on your investment for five or six months of the year with it not producing income.

your food truck should be unique/different vs what we already have. The food portions need to be consistent.  
 
I am finding that a locally owned food truck in town that has been in business for years, they portion size has shrunk quite a bit and their prices have skyrocketed.

I appreciate your inputs! I do have a few very different ideas but just hesitant on costs and unsure of all involved to start up.

My best advice would be to keep a very limited menu for speed and efficiency. Your best chance at making money is volume. If customers struggle to order & each transaction takes two minutes just to order, that’s way too long. Volume, quality, & speed of ordering and order fulfillment are key.

Prepare a business plan. If properly, and honestly done, all your questions will be answered and you might even give yourself some new ideas.
