BRHC - Thank you
Oct 24 at 12:36 PM
Well, I just spent three days and two nights in the Brandon Regional Health Centre, and although I was there because I had to be, I couldn’t have been treated any better. It started with the Intake Nurse Rick, who was just great, getting me all set up and explaining everything that would happen, and he was quite entertaining too. The surgical team led by Dr, Gqoli did a great job (I guess they did, but because of the work of Dr. Murray I slept through the procedure). Once I sat in recovery for a while, I went to the second floor ward where Nurse Jenna got me all settled in and looked after me quite well. For the next 2 nights Nurse Assia made sure I was prodded and tested at regular intervals, but kept things light for me in spite of me getting short bouts of sleep. For the second and third days, Nurse Taylor was in charge, and her experience and attention to detail, along with her friendliness, made sure I was comfortable and safe and made sure I had everything I needed, including some pretty heavy duty pain meds at one point. Also, Nurse Bonnie jumped in to lend a hand, but mostly she was a friendly soul at the Nursing Station. Nursing Aides Dominique and Megan were on hand but I didn’t see too much of them in my “suite” but they also contributed to my the pleasant parts of my stay. Before closing this message, I have to say that I have a lot of respect for Dr. Gqoli who explained everything that would happen, including possible outcomes, and he made frequent bed-side visits to make sure all was well with me. So thank you to everyone at the BRHC.
