I just got my Westman internet bill, and I'm frustrated. I'm paying (with tax) about $145/month for their Connect 650 service. Does anyone have a better provider for this (or even less) internet only services?

We have Fibe50 with Bell, locked in for $60/month. So it’s substantially slower than your services but good enough for our needs. I looked at Bell’s packages and Fibe500 is $120/month after the 2year promotional pricing. So assuming yours has taxes, you are not too far off.

where you are located, but in many locations there are multiple providers. Do a internet search, or let people know where you are located. There is a big difference in the number of providers for Brandon vs Ninga. Be aware there will be providers that will show up in your search many which do not service your area. You have to weed thru the garbage. Many providers have an introductory offer ranging from 6 months to 2 years. What I do is when our introductory offer is about to expire is go looking for a new offer. I have had our existing provider agree to extend our current intro offer or get close enough it is not worth changing providers. Be aware your current provider may not bend so keep all of your options open and be prepared to change providers. If you have your own router it is very easy to change providers. I have my own so it is a simple, they install their required equipment and I plug my router into their modem and life goes on.

I pay around the same for the 1GigaBit Plan offered from Westman

Came here to say I pay the same price for their Connect 1 Gig Internet.

How much speed do you actually need? I'm pretty satisfied with 75 Mbps. We have two people who work from home, and it's also enough to stream 4k Netflix.  
 
Game installs and software updates take longer than if I had faster service. But I can live with that.

I'm currently helping my mom's boyfriend set up his new Westman setup as well. He settled on the 75 package since it's mostly him anyway, but they do get a maximum of 15 people when they all get together. He's getting hooked up tomorrow, so we'll see how that goes. At least Mom can help him since he lives two hours away and she:s there often.  
 
On an unrelated note, I discovered after having to reset one of their boxes that the WCG Connect TV installs by default and is configured automaticaly after all the initial setup, so I likev that part.
