The 7 Best Places to find a ghost
2/2/2009 at 12:03 AM
As taken from The Complete Idiots Guide to Ghosts and Hauntings .... it was a tear out page from the book
1. OLD HOUSES: Those rundown mansions might just be haunted, especially if a death occurred inside. The Boreley Rectory was once said to be the most haunted house in Britain.
2. CASTLES: Dungeons, drafty rooms and dark corridors are pretty enticing to spirits of the night. Glamis Castle, the traditional (tho not historical) site of Macbeth's murder of King Duncan, is a perfect example.
3. CHURCHES, MONASTERIES & ABBEYS:
For whom does the bell toll? Ghostly monks and nuns, especially those of martyrs, have been sighted thruout the world. Glastonbury Abbey, England's first Christian Church, was excavated in the 20th century with the assistance of spirit monks.
4. CEMETERIES: This is a no brainer. the ghosts don't even travel far from home. Bachelor Grove and Resurrection cemeteries outside of Chicago are two of the most famously haunted.
5. THEATRES: Many actors just don't want to leave the stage. They linger on long after the spotlight has faded. hundreds have spotted the spectre of Man in Grey in London's Drury Lane Theatre.
6. BATTLEFIELDS: Sites of tragedy and loss, such as those seen during horrors of war, are often haunted. Two of the most famous battlegrounds are at Gettysburg and outside of Fort Ticonderoga
7. DEATH SITES: Sometimes the spirits stay behind b/c they don't know they're dead. Some can't break free from the trauma surrounding their deaths. Others just to revisit the sites of their demise.
