After eight-plus days of high level curling, it all comes down to this on the final day of competition at the Tim Hortons Brier.
As a result of Saturday’s playoff matches, Brad Jacobs’ Northern Ontario rink will first meet Brendan Bottcher’s Team Wild Card in the semi-final at 1pm. That will be followed by the Championship Final at 7pm where the semi-final winner will take on Kevin Koe’s as-yet unbeaten Alberta team.
Koe will be looking to win his fourth career Brier after earning a spot in the final with a convincing 9-4 win over Northern Ontario on Saturday evening. Bottcher will play in the semi-final thanks to knocking out two-time defending champ Brad Gushue yesterday afternoon.
Both Koe and Bottcher are based in Alberta which just happens to be the host province for the Men’s World Curling Championships later this month (Lethbridge).
Though scarce in prime areas, some tickets for each game do appear available at the time of this posting between the Keystone Centre’s ticket page and through third parties in the eBrandon classifieds (no more than face value please!). If you happen to not get your hands on some, both games will be televised live on TSN.
Here’s to a great finale to an already memorable week and a half!
