After a dominant 4-1 win over the Winnipeg Wild in front of a delirious crowd tonight at the Sportsplex, your Brandon AAA Wheat Kings have won the Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League Championship!

Brandon added two more in the second courtesy Tanner Morrison and Mitch Thiessen. The Wild would score one in the third to make it closer, setting the stage for a dramatic shorthanded goal by Nolan Ritchie that would all but clinch the title.
The Wheat Kings had lost the first game of the best-of-five series against the regular season’s top team before winning each of the next three.
The Wheat Kings now move on to compete in the Telus Regionals in Tisdale, Sask beginning next week
