If you arenât already among the brave that have brought out shorts and sandals, today might just be calling your name.
As of first thing Friday morning Environment Canada is calling for a high of 22 degrees for Brandon. If we reach that forecast high itâll be the first time in just over 6 months to the day that temps break 20 degrees (October 18, 23.3 degrees). It also places us a little ahead of schedule compared to last year when it took until April 29 to break the same barrier. Going as far as breaking a record is unlikely however with 1952âs high on April 19 of 26.7
The spike in temp comes with the caveat that winds from the Southwest are this afternoon expected to become 40 km/hr gusting to 60 before weakening in the evening and eventually giving way to showers overnight into Saturday morning. Also meaningful is Friday's overnight low of +8, an overnight minimum number we haven't seen since mid-September.
